PANDORA'S BOX

In Greek mythology, Pandora was the first woman on earth. She was given a box by Zeus (their chief god), with instructions to never open the box. Curiosity got the better of her, and she opened the box, letting out every evil known to man. Too late, she tried to shut the box but everything had escaped and there was no way to get them back. The only thing left in the box was hope.

What does this story remind you of? Well for me, it's remarkably similar to what is happening in the world today. First it was the abortion bill. A lot of arguements were given in favour of this move. It would save the lives of many at-risk women, it would prevent the birth of malformed babies, etc. Now abortion is virtually used by some people as a means of contraception! At first these abortions were for very early pregnancies because in their thinking, life was not yet present in the fetuses. There are now efforts being made to push for later term abortions, were almost fully-formed babies can be got rid off.

Next came the push to recognise homosexuality as a valid lifestyle choice.

Then, the debate about the merits of euthanasia (mercy-killing of people with terminal diseases).

The issue that's currently on everyone's lips is the gay marriage bill.

The one I heard this morning is that swingers are also starting to fight for their right to be able to practice their lifestyle openly. Just incase you didn't know, swinging is a non-monogamous behavior, in which singles or partners in a committed relationship engage in sexual activities with others as a recreational or social activity. #what'stheworldcomingto!!!

Proverbs 22:28 reads, "Do not remove the ancient landmark which your fathers have set."

When boundaries are moved, the lines become blurred and nobody is sure of anything. There are no longer any absolutes and people become free to define their own morality.

Pandora's box has indeed been unleashed, but there is still hope sitting in that box. We must believe that God is able to make something good out of the chaos we as human beings have created. Selah!

    1. It's one of the signs of the last days. Evil will continue to abound as long as men turn they backs on God.

      Thanks for stopping by.
