IS 'EASTER' SCRIPTURAL?

Please do not misunderstand me. Of course the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus our Messiah is scriptural, and we should definitely commemorate these events, but is that what Easter means?

I've done a little research and listened to some biblical teaching and apparently Easter is the name of the pagan goddess of fertility. In the 1st century Constantine, a roman emperor, changed the name of the festival from Passover to Easter and from there several 'Easter' traditions have proceeded including easter bunnies and easter eggs.

Some may consider this splitting hairs, but should one of Christianity's most sacred celebrations be associated with pagan symbolism?
