WHAT IS THE TRUE GOSPEL?

1 Corinthians 15:1-4
"Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.
By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according
to the Scriptures,
that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures."

This is the whole Gospel, nothing more nothing less. But is this what we have today? What do we see around us? Something completely different packaged as the Gospel.

The focus has been shifted, so instead of being God-oriented, ministry is now mostly need-oriented. We have prosperity ministries, deliverance ministries, healing ministries, prophetic ministries et al. Of course the Bible talks about different spiritual gifts; healing, working of miracles, word of knowledge etc, but these are meant for the edification or building up of the Church. The main focus should always be the true Gospel. In other words all those gifts are extras, the icing on the cake. The absence of healing, prophecy and miracles will not prevent anyone from going to heaven, they'll certainly make life here on earth more comfortable, but without the true Gospel it's all vanity!

Often times people flock to these ministries because of their problems and not because they seek a relationship with God, and if perchance they get the break-through they need, they disappear only to reappear when another problem rears its head. That's one of the reasons why people go from church to church, seeking for a solution to their problems. God is seen as the means to an end and not the End in Himself.

It's time for the Church to wake up from her slumber. We must all go back to the true Gospel, for that is the power of God unto salvation.

Seek first the kingdom of God and ALL other things will be added unto you!!!
